Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
This year for Brain Awareness week Learning Pirate hosted an “Ask me Anything” with two scientists. We kicked off the session with some general knowledge about our brains, how they operate, learn, etc, and then opened the floor to our participants to ask any of their burning questions.
We had lots of discussion around learning and memory, as well as emotional and cognitive regulation.
We hosted for just over an hour and it was an open, honest conversation with lots of laughs and learning!

Feedback & Keys to Success
How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
It’s been less about benefiting the business and more about benefiting the general public. Giving people access to the scientists and providing education on the brain has given a greater awareness while also showing people that it doesn’t have to be as complicated as it seems.
Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:
We didn’t have much time to plan this year, so definitely more lead up to do more marketing would be beneficial.
