Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

LifePorte organized a poetry and essay contest which was targeted at students in public and private primary and secondary schools in Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria with the hope of stimulating awareness about the brain and its dynamic functions in our daily activities. It also provided an excellent opportunity to enhance their creative writing skills. This contest called for submissions on February 7th, 2019 and closed on the 7th of 2019. The top three among the selected best entries in the senior secondary category received cash prizes, certificates and nominations to participate in our flagship Science Advocacy Programme for Youngsters (SAPFY) that held from the 9th to 11th of May, 201. The Best top entries from the different categories in the primary school category also received prizes, certificates and were nominated to participate in SAPFY 2019 where their awards will be presented. In addition, winning schools received Free teaching aids and extra nomination to participate in SAPFY 2019.

The participants were very much excited about the event. it helped them to gain more knowledge about the structure and function of the brain. the essay also provided them with an opportunity of learning how to communicate about science and to learn new things
