Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
We discussed the importance of keeping your brain healthy, including eating healthy, getting sleep, and wearing a helmet. We then did the egg drop experiment and the kids worked in pairs to build helmets for eggs. They used styrofoam cups, apple cartons, egg cartons, crepe paper, tissue paper, foam, bubble wrap, and tape to make the helmets. We dropped the eggs with helmets and only one of the 8 eggs cracked while wearing a helmet!

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
The kids were really excited to be learning about the brain and asked some good questions. I think that this presentation was beneficial in showing the importance of wearing a helmet.
