Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

I published my book in March this year on Learning and the Brain. One of the chapters presents information about the work that DANA Foundation does especially during BAW. I forwarded the book launch invitation to you and presented the outline of an initiative here in Brazil: I distributed 10 copies of the book to interested parties from anywhere in the country through message in socia media channels. The commitment was to read during BAW and share a 1 minute video talking about 3 things learned from the book, 2 things to be shared, 1 thing to be changed based on the information in the book. The videos were compiled in a folder and uploaded to my youtube channel and also distributed via social media. Feedback & Keys to Success

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?

I know for a fact that at least 5 times the people directly involved in the action that I promoted got new and consubstantiated information about the brain. This is an immediate and promising result of this event. BY having a deadline (the end of BAW) and a commitment, sharing information learned plus producing a 1 min. video), participants were responsible for the information that they got and had to pass forward. That is one of the ways in which real learning can happen.

Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:

If you could enable the possibility of uploading videos in the partners-only area, more could be done in terms of showing the involvement and the work carried out..
