Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
BREIF DESCRIPTION: Department of Botany & Biotechnology, Newman College, Thodupuzha, Kerala in association with DANA Foundation, New York, USA organized the an invited talk on on the topic “The Role of Proteoglycans in Central Nervous System Regeneration” as part of the Brain Awareness week celebration on March 19, 2021. The talk was targeted to give a basic idea of CNS regeneration and the possibilities of research in this area to undergraduate students of various disciplines of science. The inaugural session was presided by Dr. Thomson Joseph, Principal, Newman College, Thodupuzha. Dr. Naijil George, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, St. Joseph’s College, Irinjalakuda has served as Resource Person to deliver Invited Talk. The talk gave a basic insight to the role of extra cellular matrix in cell nervous system regeneration and then move on to detailed research possibilities. Around 100 participants including under graduate students and faculty attended the talk. An interactive session after the talk was effectively utilized by the participants.
