Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
This year, our topic was Mental Health in the COVID-19 era, we had a series of speakers that shed light on the importance of social interactions even during the pandemic situation, making special emphasis on the risk of social isolation in elderly populations. We also discussed what are the main neurobiological and neurochemical changes in the brain during depression and anxiety. Most important, 4 of our graduate students developed a 3-minute resource for senior citizens to increase mobility even during social distancing times.
