Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

All the Kindergarten through 5th grade students received handouts provided by the Dana Foundation. Some of the handouts were downloaded and copied, while others were mailed to me. My students enjoy receiving and discussing these materials. They also explore links on the Internet. They especially enjoy the Bruce Hood series including “What’s In Your Head” (http://www.rigb.org/christmas-lectures/watch/2011/meet-your-brain/whats-in-your-head) and Eric Chudler’s “BrainWorks” (http://www.washington.edu/uwtv/series/brainworks/watch/CAKscnzkhHg/.

Feedback & Keys to Success

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?

Students have learned more about their brain: why it’s important, how it works, and how to protect it. My students crave learning about science and BAW helps me incorporate that passion into the lessons.
