Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
Graduate students took 5th graders in NYC schools on a journey of discovery that included meeting a scientist, challenging your brain, and understanding how we recognize the world around us using sensory information. There was strong positive feedback from students, teachers, principals and volunteers. Many are already looking forward to next year.

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
The graduate students that participated in the BAW have gone on to volunteer for other science outreach events in NYC. Many are also now interested in developing science curricula. The 5th grade teachers are also reporting that the students kept talking about the brain and science for days and weeks after the visit.
