Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
Presupposing that a unitary definition of consciousness is still to be found, we introduced the most recent acquisitions relating to mind and brain conceptions that new technologies have allowed to explore with typization of the various function and areas (L.Imeri*). Starting from this integrated neuro-scientific information we can reach the conception of “extended” mind (Dennet 1991) which emerges in the Imaginative Experience psychotherapeutic model. It exteriorises, through the language, a narrativity that becomes thinking (M.Talamoni***). Thanks to an access to psyche starting from poetry stimuli, it was shown by a clinical case presentation that, during the diachronic motion of the therapy, different levels of consciousness could be reached. This path, overcoming resistances, reaches the unconscious pulsional sphere to emerge finally in the transcendent Superior Unconscious.
