Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
The fil rouge of the various multidisciplinay lectures ranged from philosophical, neuro-scientific, bioethic, psychodynamic to juridical aspects, which, despite not being born with this target, are coherent with Imaginative Experience Psychotherapy metapsychology. Starting from the consideration that a new metaphysics based on technology is developping, and is increasingly acquiring the characteristics of a true and (im)proper “religion” (C.Bonito), even the expression “artificial intelligence” is a contraddiction since a machine, though sophisitcated and technologically evolved, as the most advanced robots, isn’t provided with sentient activity (Pope Francis). In this regard “awareness” and “self-awareness” are foundations of human person and diversifyng from the rest of existing (animated or unanimated) (G.Salatiello). These conceptions, at phenomenical level, are reflected in “higher-order consciousness”, the awareness of being conscious, until mystic states and meditation (M.P.Brugnoli). From cartesian dualistic conception (M.A.Mangione) to “flat onthology” that considers human mind, soul, as exctractable from the brain, in the form of memory, and conveyable to an informatic device, the tendancy to “immortality” was highlighted, implying the passage from homo sapiens to homo cyber (A.Carrara). The intertwining between memory and awareness was deepened, starting from clinical level, thanks to evidence obtained through the Imaginative Experience Psychotherapy model (A.Passerini). This methodology allows to access forgotten memories, intrinsic memory, a repository of forgotten experiences which, in a timely memory labilization condition, allows retranscription. The functioning of both memories was described in detail.
