Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
1) From March 12-26, Synapse Organization hosted an innovative exhibit at the Cerritos Library in conjunction with Brain Awareness Week. The exhibit explored topics like neurological disorders, psychology, advancements in neuroscience, neuroanatomy, and neuroethics. The exhibit was in the news and Synapse played a crucial role in proclaiming March 12-18 as Brain Awareness Week: http://www.indiawest.com/news/global_indian/city-of-cerritos-honors-nonprofit-synapse-during-brain-awareness-week/article_d597c706-2ed4-11e8-885f-2387b6d9fd71.html 2) Volunteers painted along with Alzheimer’s participants in a fun-filled morning, discussing the importance of perspective and confidence in any situation. 3) Elementary school students presented their poster creations and made their own model brain cells. They consolidated their preliminary knowledge of the brain and gained an introduction to the anatomy of a neuron.
