Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:

The 1st annual Brain Awareness Week in The Bahamas was launched at The College of The Bahamas (COB), Nassau .Bahamas. The week featured an exhibition March 16-20 held at the Harry C. Moore library and a student activities forum entitled, “Brain Stimulating Activities”. The exhibition featured the work of students in the Animal Physiology and Anatomy & Physiology courses.Research posters and videos and handcrafted brain models were all displayed. Exhibition, March 16-20, 2015 The research topics related to the normal functioning of the brain and some of the common diseases/disorders associated with the brain. On March 19th, the college students held a forum where they performed brain stimulating activities and games. The students. This activity was open to all students regardless of age. Prizes and surprises were given. At the conclusion of this activity all students who participated in the week of activities were presented with a “brain Awareness Week” certificate of participation. Our goal was to reach the college community focusing mainly on the students. The exhibition was most successful; visitors from the college community, high school and primary school students attended the event..

Both of the publicity methods were successful. A "Save the Date" was sent out to the entire College community, and it was also featured in COB's weekly bulletin.
