Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
The medical students, as well as a Neuropathologist and a Neurologist presented brains and spinal cords. We demonstrated the Neuroscience for Kids Website and helped the elementary students navigate while answering questions. We did Neurological exams and showed how to check pupils and reflexes. We answered many questions and ate a jello brain. We gave out many informational items from the DANA foundation!

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
The elementary students are always very enthusiastic, and have many questions for us. I believe the experience makes them have better understanding of their brains and bodies, and encourages them to think about careers in neuroscience and medicine.
