Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
Conferences were given at the University about binge eating disorder, addiction, sleep and non-pharmacological alternatives for psychiatric conditions. Moreover, university proffesors went outdoors to give courses and conferences directly to the people for whom this information might be more relevant. This years courses on stroke detection and prevention were give to elder people, while conferences about addiction were given to teenagers. We believe that both approaches are important, the academic at the university and the informal at specific locations outside the campus.

Feedback & Keys to Success
How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
BAW participation has benefited both our institution and more importantly our community. Speakers share important neuroscience information in a presentation format easy to understand, allowing the public to make use of this information in their daily personal or professional life. Furthermore, taking proffessors ouside the university to reach social sectors that seldom atend to formal academic forums and give them important neuroscience information for their use is also an important success
Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:
Thera are social sectors that do not atend to academic forums but might use information. However it is possible to contact them in order to take the information from the universtiy directly to them.
