Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
This year, University of Sonora Psychology and Social Sciences students and professors joined the worldwide Brain Awareness effort. On Saturday March 18th we held a fair with 14 different stations in 4 different categories. The categories were Neuroanatomy, The senses, Brain and Health and Cognition and Behaviors. Some activities included bovine brain cutting, brain hat coloring, neurons construction with pipe cleaners, jello brains, testing cranial nerves, visual illusions, somatosensory stimulation, effect of music and art on the brain, brainwave competitions, brain and personality. The event was entirely run by graduate and undergraduate students in neuroscience with the aid of 3 young professors.
