Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
Interesting we could get the partners identified above: Briefly:Institute of Biomedical Sciences of and the CINUSP both of University of São Paulo – , and Federal University of ABC. Also the AACD-Association of Assiatance for Disabled Children, The Board of the West Region of São Paulo for Fundamental and High School teachers, were a conference was presented. We also had the support of the Brazilian Society for Neuroscience. Together, we organized events for each day of the week, more than one for the day. A permanent poster exhibition of some of the Neuroscience research carried on the Institute of Biomedical Sciences. We produced 8 videos of some lab research. 5 Conferences were delivered. 3 movies in which neuroscience was involved were displayed in the University and one session was also organized for the general public. Some brain challenges were adapted from BAW website and some were developed. We got a expressive involvement of the Institute community (students, professors, employees). Also a presentation was organized at the AACD- the patients, caregivers, trainees, professionals and employees. We consider it a success and plan to expand getting more institutions involved for the next year.

Feedback & Keys to Success
How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
The events provided a good opportunity to the different researchers, professors, students get more acquainted with the activities and research in neuroscience are being developed in the Institute. Students enjoyed producing the videos and watching the movies and the debates organized after the exhibitions. The AACD caregivers, patients and professionals also enjoyed the exhibition and the material to play with. They want more for next year.
Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:
The planning should start early enough to allow discussions on how to develop the activities and select the contents to be explored as well as the public targeted. MOreover, to get more institutions and people involved in the events.
