Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
As action for the VII National Brain Week, practical activities were carried out with the community in public square, Praça Batista Campos, Belém. The objectives of this action were: – Perform practical classes on basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, sense organs, memory and perception with the community in the square Batista Campos; – Preparation and dissemination of the pamphlets on Autism, TDH, Childhood Depression and Neurodegenerative Diseases for the community in Praça Batista Campos, Belém. – Perform physical activities with instructors in the area to exercise mind and body. The practices carried out: – Bench of the senses; – puzzle and memory game about the nervous system; – Tower of London and practice of attention – Optical illusion; – fake rubber hand Physical activities performed: – Gifts for children; – Slackline workshop (tape training for balance, motor coordination and concentration); – Functional training The action was able to attend approximately the community that was present in the Plaza Batista Campos on Sunday 18/03/2018, from 8am to 12pm.

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
It allowed the dissemination of basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the nervous system, sense organs, memory and perception, Autism, TDH, Childhood Depression and Neurodegenerative Diseases for the community to encourage research and detection of diseases that hit our nervous system as well as his importance
