Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
We intended to raise the awareness and dissemination of the importance of reducing the invisible forces that make it difficult for girls and women to reach their goals and follow their wishes through brief interviews with girls in Sciences, at this moment, with a focus on neurosciences. Thus, we made brief video interviews with women ranging from different moments in their careers with relevant topics in a question and answer interviewing format. We believe we have reached our goals, even though the pandemic was on the rise in our country our initiative being online was not affected as much and we started this new outreach program with a good amount of visibility. We have continued forth with different subjects and the neuroscience portion was just the start, the first step.

Feedback & Keys to Success
How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
We were able to share the history of Professors and Students alike to the general public and inside our institution. With undergraduate students taking a keen interest in some of the interviewees as well as high schoolers. In the institutional levels, we increased the crosstalk inside our institution with people from different areas than us.
Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:
Even though it’s hard to have any monetary or subsidiary help outside the United States it would be awesome if we could have help at the international level or a bigger hub for the outreach and advertising of the events besides the DANA calendar.
