Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
Major Activities A multiskilling level training on “substance abuse and prevention,” was given for 200 different communities and professionals of Wachemo University Community by Meskerem Teketel(BSc, MSc). A multiskilling level training on “Epilepsy and related Bipolar disorders awareness and prevention strategy” training was given for more than 200 different communities and professionals of Wachemo University Community by Teketel Eristu (BSc, MSc, PhD fellow). A multiskilling level training on “Test Anxiety and Alleviation strategy” training was given for 200 different communities and professionals of Wachemo University Community by Kaleab Tadesse (BSc, MSc, MA in Counseling Psychology fellow). A multiskilling level training on “Khat Addiction and consequences” training was given for 200 different communities and professionals of Wachemo University Community by Fikirte Getachew (BSc, MSc in Medical Physiology). Posters that explain brain structure, function and disorder of brain including, substance abuse was posted for the participants. Plastic brain model that explains brain structures was presented for participants. Promotional stationary distributions for participants were done.

How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
After exhaustively discussing the issue odf how to improve brain research and sustain the benefit of neuroscience research, then all community members thoroughly discussed the issue and decided to work with International Brain Research Organization and others concerned body on Brain Research, Successful aging and support services programs.
Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:
Based on the desired goals of project and reflection raised by participants, the team members planned major activities to conduct next. Thus, increase intervention coverage in area such as community outreach and strengthen school neuroscience clubs to ensure sustainability of community based intervention.
