Details of Major Brain Awareness Week Events/Activities:
We organized the Brain Awareness Week in a form of a Scientific Conference for Children under the title “Do you know your brain?” from 15 to 19 March 2021. The young participants of the event had an extraordinary possibility to take part in a scientific conference for children modeled on a real scientific conference. We carried out various activities for children / teenagers from our Association of Private Schools. The events planned within the Brain Awareness Week at our school in Opoczno were a great opportunity for our pupils and students, as the school is located in a small town, where we do not have neither a university nor a variety of public places or activities (typical for big cities). Our purpose was to expand the knowledge of a human brain and how it works in a form of scientific conference for children and teenagers. During the Brain Awareness Week we held a lot of great events: scientific conference for children (poster session and lecture session), brain lessons, social media campaign, brainstorming, workshops, worksheets, brain stickers, competition, presentation, 3d model making. Timetable and Details of Major Brain Awareness Week – Scientific Conference for Children “Do you know your brain?”: -1st day (March, 15th) – Opening Ceremony – a welcoming part for all the participants and a lecture held by professionals from UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX, USA (on-line) -Days 2-3 (March, 16th-18th) – thematic classes (workshops, lectures by students, competition, exhibit) -Day 5 – The Show Day (March, 19th) – posters presentation, award ceremony.

Feedback & Keys to Success
How do you feel BAW participation benefited your organization and the local community?
It was a great benefit for our school! We gained so many great opinions during the time (BAW) from parents and teachers. Also students were very proud to have a possibility to take part in such an event!
Please share any suggestions or lessons learned that may help others plan future events:
All the materials are prepared in English so it was difficult for our kindergarten teachers to use the materials for the youngest groups (3-5 years old). It would be usefull of these materials would be prepared in such a way so everybody could understand them (maybe pictures only?)
